Colors of Indian Festivities- Part III

I am back with the third part of the Indian festivities series. This blog is going to be about my favorite festival- Durga Puja!

Being a bengali, I wait for the puja season (yes, it’s a season for my people) every year. I have so many fond memories of celebrating this with my parents back in India. Though we don’t live in India any more, I am trying to create similar memories for my son here in the US.

Durga Puja—the ceremonial worship of the goddess Durga, is one of the most colorful festivals of India. Apart from being a religious festival for the Hindus, it is also an occasion for reunion, rejuvenation and a celebration of traditional culture and customs. The festival epitomizes the victory of good over evil, but it also is in part a harvest festival that marks the goddess as the motherly power behind all of life and creation.

I can go on and on about this festival, but I will stop here and move on to the look book. If you need details of the outfits, check the description below the pictures or click on the pictures.
