Bodega Bay- A hidden jewel in California coast
If you live in and around San Francisco or Bay area and are looking for a quick getaway for the weekend or the long weekend, here's a hidden gem for you- "Bodega Bay"!
Located approximately 2 hours away from San Francisco, this small beach town boasts quaint beaches which are absolutely gorgeous!
If you are wine lover, Bodega Bay is also home for some local wineries which have breathtaking views! The wines are not bad at all!!
If you are someone who likes to be out and about, there are several places that offer kayak rentals. My 4 year old had a great time kayaking down the river and into the ocean! He also got to see some seals!!! Totally toddler approved.
Here's a list of some wonderful places you can eat at. All of these places are toddler approved which is very important for families traveling with kids.
Terrapin Creek Cafe- This restaurant has a Michelin star and the food is absolutely delicious! Staff is very friendly and they accommodate toddlers without the nasty stares. Their appetizers are to die for! Especially the oysters.
River's end In Jenner- Very scenic restaurant that is ALWAYS full. Reservations are highly recommended and they will charge your credit card if you don't cancel in advance. I found the food just ok. But the view is out of the world
Fishetarian- A must eat place for fish lovers. This is mainly a take out place. Be prepared to stand in long lines. So plan ahead of time if you have little humans with you.
Lastly, where do you stay when you visit bodega bay? Even though this place has some beautiful hotels and inns, we decided to stay at a vacation home which we rented from Bodega bay escapes. The property was in an absolutely exquisite location overlooking a golf course and the beach. The sunsets from the house were stunning! You can find a lot of great vacation rentals listed at “Alltherooms”
